In light of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679, which will come into force on 25 May 2018, LMS Studio Legale (“LMS” or “we”) intends to provide you some information relating to the processing of your personal data. As data controller of your data, LMS is responsible for how your data is collected and used. Which data we collect and for what purposes?
LMS is in possession of some of your personal data. “Personal data” means the data that can be used to identify you or that can be otherwise linked to you (“Data”). LMS collected your Data within the context of its professional relationship with you, for example when you communicated with us via email or other channels, when you signed up for newsletters, alerts, or other information material or when you attended to an event organized by LMS. The Data we collected may include your name, postal address, e-mail address, job title and, in certain cases, your private phone number, private postal e-mail addresses as well as your professional experience.

How do we use your personal data?
We use the Data we collect within the context of the legal services we provide, as well as for communication and information purposes, in particular to:

  • send you invitations to events, training programs and lectures;
  • send you newsletters only strictly related to areas pertaining to LMS’ activity.

Nevertheless, if you no longer wish to receive our e-mails for the above mentioned purposes, you can unsubscribe by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link. In case you opt to unsubscribe, we will cease to send you communications and invitations as mentioned above and your Data will be processed only for the purpose of our business relationship. Similarly, you will have the opportunity to exercise your right to unsubscribe at any time when receiving communications from LMS.

Who do we share your Data with?
Your Data will be processed for the above-mentioned purposes and will be handled by authorized persons only. In case of supply of services on behalf of LMS, e.g. services relating to our IT systems or events’ organization, LMS may need to allow its suppliers to access your Data.
In addition, LMS may need to share your Data with LMS Legal LLP (*), e.g. so that you can receive certain communications and invitations involving LMS Legal LLP.
LMS does not sell or assign your Data to third parties.
Your Data will be processed mainly within the European Union or third countries identified as offering an adequate level of data protection by means of a specific decision of the European Commission. Transfers of data outside the European Union will be done in accordance with the applicable data protection laws and will be made on the basis of the standard contractual clauses set forth by the European Commission.

How long will we keep your Data?
Your Data will be retained for the purposes mentioned above, only for the duration of our business relationship. Every time you receive an e-mail by LMS, you will have the opportunity to unsubscribe by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link featured in each e-mail. In such a case, you will no longer receive any communications or invitations from us, and we will use your Data exclusively for communications pertaining to our business relationship.

Security measures to keep your Data safe
LMS adopts appropriate technical and organizational security measures to ensure the integrity and protection of your Data and to avoid access by unauthorized persons. LMS regularly updates its security measures in order to ensure the maximum efficiency of the IT systems processing your Data.

How to access or amend your personal data or exercise your rights
At any time, you will have the right to request a copy of the Data we hold about you, to request the amendment or deletion of the use we make of your Data. You can also object to certain of your Data being processed by us or request that such processing be limited. We further remind you that the limitation or deletion of your Data may prevent us to send you the communications and invitations mentioned above.
